A busy weekend ahead at Waverley Road, with something for everyone on offer!

Following a mixed set of results last week, we move onwards and hope the autumn sun remains for another week to allow the experience for all involved in this week’s
action-packed week.

We start the week's rugby off with the return of the Friday night lights with the Colts in action playing away against S&L KO 7:30 pm. It would be great for the team to have your support.

At Waverley Road we host a 'Friday Night Lights Match', as we host HMP Woodhill Staff for a fixture against our 3XV featuring some of our veteran players – with a 7:30 pm KO it is perfect for a quick bar meal then head down to pitch side for great competitive rugby to start the weekend off.

Saturday starts early this week with KRFC hosting the charity football tournament from 10 am in aid of some worthwhile charities -the team behind it has raised over £50k for causes since they launched it 6 years ago. The event is an exceptional family day starting with football then leading to a huge raffle, live band, and fundraising into the evening. We are again supported by The Food Barn and Mark & Sally running the outside bar from 11 am.

Also starting early are our girls’ teams as they take on a touring side from Solihull across two games in the Under 14 and Under 16 age grades. Our own Steve Love has been helping push the development of girls' and women’s rugby with the aim of getting a full Women’s team up and running soon so it would be great to get some new spectators down and see what it’s all about, especially if it’s something you have considered trying out yourself.
Games KO at 11 am.

The First XV heads over to our long-term rivals at Wellingborough to rebalance the books and continue the sporting rivalry punctuating both clubs’ histories. It’s sure to be a fierce match and well supported by both sides but the more Blues we have to cheer them on the better!

Our 2ndXV play at home against Wellingborough II and they would also love the support! While the Colts play away in the National Colts Cup at Old Scouts! Which is bound to be a great game to watch!

Moving on to Sunday:
Mini- Junior rugby continues with U14 & U15 both playing their first matches at home!
The downstairs kitchen will be open for drinks and bacon rolls but the players will get the first chance to sample our very own Gino D’Campo with a pasta dish from Simon Hackett’s Italian Experience. Those in the know will assure you he produces a sublime sauce, and we hope to get him in the kitchen regularly this season for everyone gets a chance to taste his skills.

Once the morning gives way to “Sunday Service’ we welcome and introduce the new Sunday Quiz Night.

With the sad closure of Hobsons Choice; the regular quiz master and loyal quizzers needed a new home – so let's give a true Blues, hello, and welcome to Damo - Big Bopper and all the teams for a 7:30 pm start.

This means we now use our extended bar hours and a great food offering to keep you all going.

Full details of the Quiz Night are on the website, but we look forward to Sundays with our new friends and an opportunity to win prizes and have fun.

Regards, The Clubhouse Team
