The funeral will be on Thursday 10th April at 11.30 am at All Saints church, William St, Kettering. NN16 9RR. Followed by a private cremation.

The wake will be at Kettering Rugby Club. Family flowers only. Donations to Cransley Hospice via Jack Warwick Funeral Services.

John Owen or “Cobra John” as so many of us knew him, was a stalwart of Kettering
Rugby club, a true blue club man whose love for KRFC never faltered throughout his
life. For many years Cobra was the club 'Team Secretary', back in the days of 5 senior
sides and a Colts XV turning out every week from the beginning of September until
the end of April.
Each week individual players were informed of their team selection and match day details on postcards all individually written, stamped and posted by Cobra. John was also a team captain for several years and many of us remember our introduction to club rugby playing for Cobra’s 5 th's.
Once retired from Rugby John continued his support of KRFC and was a regular at pre-match lunches. A popular, kind, and generous man who cared about the club and the people in it.
